BLCGS v Hampshire Match Report

The summer heatwave continued to the middle of July and I think all the players were wondering how hot and hilly the course at Andover Golf Club, Hampshire would be for our match. We only played 7 pairs as our opposition could only field 14 ladies. The Hampshire captain picks a different course for each of her home matches and her choice for us was the 9 hole course at Andover.

Some of the lady members of Andover volunteered to be ball spotters or marshalls to guide us as it was not always obvious of the direction of the next tee. We had a fantastic welcome from the club and the lunch buffet was absolutely superb. For some it was the highlight of the day!

All the matches were closely fought but I think the heat was more the opposition than our opponents. Hampshire eventually came out on top and Berks lost 5.5 -1.5.

As I was married two days after the match the picture is of me with a bridal sash and the Captain of Hampshire.
