Our third match in three weeks took place at Sonning GC in warm sunshine which made a very pleasant change from the last few weeks. The course was in lovely condition, although the rough, as at most clubs currently, was pretty thick due to the abundance of rain we have been having.

We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff we came into contact with and were extremely well looked after. The chicken and bacon salad served after the match was deemed ‘perfect’ by everyone.

I personally had a very enjoyable round and as my partner played so beautifully, I was mostly able to enjoy the walk and the scenery!

As the first few matches were completed I was hopeful of a win but in the end we had to settle for another 4/4 draw – although I might have to start counting the holes up as we do in some scratch leagues since we were 19 to 8 ahead in that respect!

Thank you to everyone who played.
